Nutmeg Uniform Range

Nevaeh has been back at school just a few weeks now and has settled into year one perfectly.
   I can't believe how grown up she looks, Not to mention smart Her uniform this year is Nutmeg Morrisons clothing range, And we really have found it is great. Nutmeg seem to have really expanded their range over the last couple of years with something to suit everyone's child.
    Nevaeh wanted skirts this year so we chose a black pleated skirt with a pretty flower embroidered on the front, It also has an adjustable waist which I love due to Nevaeh growing rapidly it can always just be adjusted to keep her comfortable which really is key. I always choose shirts over polo tops its just a personal preference really but nutmeg shirts really are gorgeous and again these have some really pretty detail on them. We have two shirts which are washed every other day they have stayed perfectly white and also stayed in shape.Nevaehs cardigan is Bright red and has stayed a perfect colour so far its been in a battle with paint and a spag bol fight but its made it through without a mark!

Here Nevaeh is wearing her full nutmeg uniform from her coat even down to the socks! This coat is water resistant material with a  beautiful fur like linning inside for those extra cold mornings. It really is winter ready.

 Nevaeh was lucky enough to also receive this Beautiful plum colour winter coat as part of the Autumn winter collection it is seriously gorgeous and again has the fur like lining to keep her warm in the winter.

Our potty training journey: My Carry Potty

When Nevaeh just turned Two she was potty trained fully within a week or so we had little blips where she had accidents but she was pretty much potty trained two weeks after her second birthday. I just knew it wasn't going to be plain sailing with lullah I had it to easy with Nevaeh. And lets just say I was correct we had a nightmare the first few days we have put it off and off as she really was not interested and wouldn't even sit on a potty and there is no way I would force her on it and traumatise her.

So when we were offered a My Carry Potty to try with her I jumped at the chance. I would give anything ago to try get this little monster sitting her little bum on the potty. When Lullah opened her my carry potty she instantly loved it our potty is cow print which she noticed straight away, so we had her carrying the potty making cow noise's for a few hours, I was just relieved she was entertaining a potty even if it was singing to it. The My Carry Potty is so light and easy to carry around it fit underneath our stroller in the basket which was perfect. A few days went by and we were still hit and miss with her actually making it to the potty in time so along with the potty we got a reward chart involved. Between the potty and the reward chart we have come such a long way and all the water works are on the potty now. We are still having bottom accidents but we are pretty much potty trained now!

I feel like the my carry potty has had a massive impact on our potty training it really has some great key features such as

Its so appealing to little ones you can get them in a number of prints such as ladybird and bumblebee they are both bright coloured and have cute little face features. Something I have really loved about the carry potty is how easy it is to clean, I have been discarding the waste giving it a quick rinse with water and a wipe with a anti bac wipe, Iv found this works a treat and stops it getting smelly.

Overall we are really happy with our My Carry Potty and would say they are definitely worth the money. They are great quality and I would say you could keep it if you were planning on having more children.

Back to school with BIC!

So now we are pretty much half way through the holiday (phew) it's time to start getting all our back to school items ready for that first week of September.
  As a kid I always remember that last week of the holidays trying on my uniform and sorting my pencil case out over and over. It's so important to have a good set of stationary so you are fully equipped for any activity you may face!

Swimming

I have mentioned before about my children's fear of water and the bath, So this week being the last week before all the children split up for summer holidays I thought it would be the best time to face it head on and take lullah swimming while it was quiet and over run with crazy children running around.

So the spur of the moment at 8am I decided today was the day! This was us on the bus having giggles on snap chat, While on the bus I kept going over we are going swimming in the big pool to make her aware

So for  Lullah it was facing water and me facing being in a swimming costume for the first time in a long time. So off to primark we went I picked up a BIKINI yes that's right a two piece, A high wasted two piece which did cover past my navel. Lullah got the cutest little swim suit which she had picked her self with a little tutu around the middle.

When I put my two piece on Lullah stated 'Oh mummy you look beautiful' Even with my over hang, my cellulite dimple bum and deflated air bag boobies in her eyes I am beautiful, It made me feel great. It's living proof children love their mothers no matter what they look like they don't see your imperfections because to them you are perfect.

So we were all ready of to face the crowd in my bikini and lullah in the water I braced myself for screams,tantrums the kicking, I had planned in my head it would take her at least 20 Min's before I could convince her just to sit and put her legs in the pool. luckily we have a splash pool at our local swimming baths so starts very very shallow, I held her hand tight and walked towards the water to step in, Again bracing myself for it waiting for the pulling... but oh my gosh she went straight in no trauma, She was like (in her words) A Mermaid she even went down the slide and jumped of the side into the pool. I was gobsmacked this child not even 24 hours before was screaming int he bath crying and now she was like a fish. over and over she said oh mummy this is fun and I'm so excited. 

    While I was their I looked around at all the other mums with their children having a great time, All different shapes and sizes There was one mother who was a plus size lady who was absolutely rocking her two piece and her daughter looked at her like lullah looked at me, In love..

I put off taking my children swimming for so long because of body shaming myself and now I have mummy guilt for this from now on I will never let something stop me taking or doing something with my children their opinion is the only one that matters to me.
