The Fear of headlice;Tips of keeping them at bay
Sunday, 26 June 2016
Since Nevaeh started nursery in 2014 then stepping up to reception the biggest fear I have is headlice/nits. It is a massive deal for me and I do everything In my power to prevent it So far s good (touch wood) we haven't had any lodgers in Nevaehs hair Yet there has been atleast three 'headlice outbreaks' in her class.
What I do to try and keep them at bay:
What I do to try and keep them at bay:
- Once a week I will wash Nevaeh's Hair with tea tree based shampoo, Im not really sure weather its a old wives tale but headlice are not supposed to like tea tree products I assume its the very strong smell. oils are also supposed to give the same effect.
- When there is an outbreak of headlice at the school I will smoother Nevaehs hair in conditioner and run a headlice comb through it section by section.one of thos cheap chemist white combs are fine for this! The conditioner makes it hard for headlice to cling on to the hair and if done early enough you will catch them and stop the reproduction and egg laying.
- My main tip is make sure your childs hair is up! tighter the better and plaits are brillaint, it makes a good excuse of making your little ones hair pretty. I have been trying out some new styles. I try and plait and hair spray most days. Then hairspray hairspray HAIRSPRAY! it makes it harder for the headlice to hold on to the hair and lay eggs!
Here is a new little style we tried this week:
This is so much easier than it looks watch out for my youtube video coming soon on how yo do this style!

Here’s a few more facts about why SKIPPY® Peanut Butter really is the best:
· The most important flavour criterion for peanuts is the ‘peanutty’ flavour. This is highest and most consistent with US originated peanuts
· High oleic peanuts from the USA provide healthier and great tasting peanuts
· In 1933, Joseph Rosenfield change the formula for peanut butter to create SKIPPY® Peanut Butter, which was less sticky and longer-lasting
· According to the American Peanut Council, every serving of SKIPPY® Peanut Butter is a good source of protein, providing 15% of the recommended daily Intake with just two tablespoons. It’s lower sugar than other spreads such as marmalade and jam too.
Happy fathers day
Sunday, 19 June 2016
Today has actually been so relaxed and really lovely. I usually get so stressed about days like this being perfect but I have come to realise if you have your loved ones around you then that pretty much is perfect.
We don't really go overboard for mothers day and fathers day a card and a little pressie which again I did get, I got cards from postsnap and then a T-shirt from next which went down a treat and Joshua really liked... well I do have good taste. We had a relaxing morning all in our PJ's drinking tea and watching cartoons, which is something we actually rarely do so that was nice.
We then decided we would take the girls to the park mainly because Nevaeh had been asking for two weeks but the weather has been pretty rubbish again, So we went to our memorial park because it has the best play park which is built on sand and is always fun even though it seems like sadly its the only bit of sand we will see this year HUFFFFFFFF, But anyway we all had a really great time the girls ran around for a few hours and burnt out so much energy.
We then went to visit our dads and give them cards and token gifts while enjoying cups of tea. Over all we have had a lovely day and that's what counts.
Happy fathers day Joshua if I have done anything correct in my life it would be having you as our girls daddy. Me and you may have ups and downs but the bond and the love you have with those girls is something special and infect irreplaceable.

Postsnap Review

This week I got to try out a great little app on my iphone, With fathers day fast approaching it was the perfect time to give it ago as postsnap is an app to create unique cards for all occasions.
Im usually pretty rubbish with cards as I always leave it to the last minute, the app is free to downloads from the app store its also free to make an account. Once i had downloaded and set up an account I was well away. It literally took me five minutes to make two cards. There are themes for special occasions coming up such as father day, mothers day , Christmas etc.
It allows you to use photos from social media such as facebook and instagram, which I found great as everyone knows I'm a social media addict so all my lovely photos usually end up there.
So with just a click of a button you have your favourite pictures ready to be placed on your card. It also gives you options to edit text and colours or text to make it unique to yourself.
After designing your card it gives you an option to either send to your recipient or send it to yourself with a plain envelope, which is great if the person you are sending to does not live close by and rather than be sent to you to be sent on it can just go straight to the recipient. I thought the prices were also great they start from £1.50 for a post card, £2.00 for announcement cards and £3.00 for greeting's cards with free UK delivery which is a bonus!
I was very happy with the cards I received effective and brilliant quality they really do look great and are perfect little keep sakes. Overall I would recommend this app to everyone It was quick simple with a great product produced!
I received two cards in return for this post all opinions are my own

Day one Fathers day gift guide

So lets kick start this week of with the well known brand Gillette. There razors are up there with the best for men. They are the higher price range of razors but really do give the best shave.
This razor is a Gillette fusion pro glide flex ball razor. Features include:
• 5 thinner, finer blades for less tug and pull• A precision trimmer on back for accurate edging • All Fusion razor blades fit all Fusion handles• Gillette's #1 razor on sensitive skin
Joshua has found this razor perfect it is not very often he has a clean shave so when he does he wants a good preforming razor.Joshua stated the flex ball technology made the razor glide and was easy to hit the more tough places on the face such as around the mouth and under the nose.He also said it left his skin feeling smooth.
My thoughts would be this would make a great fathers day pressie for any man seems as most of them have hairy faces.
This razor can be purchased from most supermarkets and the rrp is £15.00

My Volunteering journey
Friday, 3 June 2016
Finally my volunteering journey has started Only just mind but I'm off that starting line, I attended my first training/awareness course for one full day and to be honest it was pretty awesome and so interesting you learn things about mental ill health that I never knew existed such as that I always called it mental health; well that's incorrect its mental ILL health, Mental health is just a state of mind.
we did also get lots of yummy biscuits and unlimited amount of tea WINNER
I really feel like I have found my calling and can not wait to get fully going hopefully within the next few months i will be paired up with someone who really needs support. I want to help support and listen to these people. There are so many people suffering ill health with not a soul in the world, even if sometimes its down to themselves everyone needs a listening ear.
This to me is the start of my future for me and everything I want to achieve, It may have only been one day so far but I felt like I didn't want it to end I love learning about mental health as it is so interesting. Even if I now am analysing my friends and family for mental ill health traits! ha ha
so that's just a quick update on how its all going as have mentioned now this is what I wanted to do!

ProSkins Leggings Slim
Being someone who is very wary of there middle I always had an issue with buying leggings that fit correctly. With having my c-section pouch it was always the bane of my life finding leggings to sit right and feel comfortable.
I chose the pro skins high wasted slim to review one of the main reason's being I new they would cover my dreaded pouch and another they were just plain black and we all know black is slimming right? I want to feel comfortable while exercising and these looked like they would be perfect!

The stabilisers are off!
Thursday, 2 June 2016
This week with it being half term I decided this was the week Nevaeh was learning to ride her bike, With it also being bank holiday Joshua was home to help. So off we went to a field with lullah on her scooter and Nevaeh on her bike with the stabilisers on.
We let her have a little go around the field with the stabilisers still on then whipped them off! I held on to the bike handles and seat for a good 10 seconds counting down to letting go three times,
Then to my amazement she was off on her own, Nevaeh the accident prone didn't fall and hurt herself once ,once she got that balance she was pretty good, Even if at one point she ran lullah over.
Everyday now she wants to go on a bike ride she is so proud of herself and she can't wait to tell all her school friends and already asked for a new bike for Christmas!
Well done Nevaeh so proud of you!
